Because of the world news, everyone is familiar with the many gross images of destruction here in Haiti. Passing through the streets of Port-au-Prince, we can verify that the damages, the deaths, the injuries and needs are accurately reported. We, too, have seen looters salvaging what they can for their survival. Even now, many people are still sleeping on the streets with little food, water or cover. Despite all this, Haiti is amazingly tranquil.

Bishop Stenio Capre is actively helping hundreds and thousands of people each day. His nightly thanksgiving/worship crusades are times of incredibly joyful energy. Hundreds of people turn out each night and scores of people have given their lives to Christ. They are gathered into the church with welcoming discipleship.

Thanks to donations of goods and funds, Bishop Capre has distributed thousands of pounds of rice and beans. He is helping refugees in many places. Further, we have conducted two days of clinics. The lines of people for care were enormous. Thankfully, Bishop Capre, in his wisdom, has created a peaceful process for distributing aid and welcoming patients. Anecdotes from other missionaries indicate that their experiences have not matched our own. That is one of the blessings of working with Bishop Capre. He knows Haiti and he knows how to maximize the effectiveness of our programs.

During this month, we plan to continue our efforts around the Port-au-Prince area and extend into some rural areas in northern of Haiti. We will continue our ministries of relief by food, water and supply distribution; evangelism; and clinics.

Thank you for your donations of prayers, finances, ideas, time and other resources. We know those investments are well-spent. As eyewitnesses and participants in ministry and relief efforts with Bishop Capre, we can testify that his programs are worthy of your attention and support.

Remain blessed in our Lord.

In Christ,
Dr. David & Sis. Eczamine Wick
