Summer is here again!

By Bishop Stenio Capré

From the field—
We give thanks to God for keeping the door of the gospel open in Haiti. Social life here is still bad for the people and the only hope of the people is the Lord Jesus Christ. The new government talks about changing the situation but without the spirit of God, there will be too much to accomplish.
Every day we press on with evangelism. In many different parts of the country and in certain of our congregations, we have had 40 days of church revival: Jean-Rabel, Anse-Rouge, Port-au-Prince and Maissade.  We have plans to keep it going throughout the year. Evangelism; we have had many different crusades all over the country.

Pastors are hungry for more of God's Word

The hurricane season in Haiti is from June 1st to November 30th. The first one came the first week of June with only rain and not wind.

There will be three government school tests from the last two weeks of June for the 6th and 9th grades, and the first week of July for the 12th grade. It will be very difficult for the students because the government here always says: there are not enough jobs for people and there aren’t enough universities in the country…therefore, there is no need to have a lot of high-school diplomas. Because of this purpose, many of the students don’t pass the test.

Church members worship God with desire for more of His blessings.

Our annual convention will be from July 26th to the 31st in Jean-Rabel and we expect over 400 people every day. Our summer Bible school will be from 11 July to August the 12th. We have expected 30 students again this year.

Your prayers will be much appreciated as we will keep you in our prayers. May the Lord bless you ‘till our next newsletter.
